Product Description

Berling Super Yacht Varnish is a clear alkyd-based wood varnish designed to protect wooden surfaces against sunlight and changing weather conditions.

It forms a transparent, flexible protective film while preserving the natural appearance of the wood. It provides an excellent decorative finish and is available in gloss, satin and matt finishes.

Application Instructions

Thinning: Thin with White Spirit up to 12% by volume and stir thoroughly before use.

Surface Preparation: Surfaces must be clean, dry and free from wax, oil and other contaminants.

New Wooden Surfaces:

  • Sand the surface and remove dust and loose wood particles.

  • For protection against woodworm, apply one coat of Berling Silicon Wood Preservative before varnishing.

  • Apply 3–4 coats of varnish, allowing 24 hours between coats.

Previously Varnished Surfaces:

  • Sand the surface and clean with a cloth soaked in White Spirit.

  • Apply at least 2 coats of varnish, allowing 24 hours between coats.

  • If the existing varnish is in poor condition, remove it completely using Berling Remover and follow the application procedure for new wooden surfaces.

Application Conditions:

  • Minimum ambient temperature: 10°C

  • Relative humidity: Below 80%

Tool Cleaning: Clean application tools with White Spirit after use. Cleaning residues must be disposed of as hazardous waste in accordance with applicable regulations.
