Product Description

ISOPAST is a solvent-free, water-based bituminous waterproofing emulsion containing resins and mineral stabilisers. It is specially formulated to provide effective waterproofing and protection against moisture and water penetration.

It offers excellent adhesion to various substrates, including concrete, metal, wood, polyurethane and polystyrene, and can also be applied to slightly damp surfaces.

Once hardened, it forms a durable waterproof membrane that is resistant to low concentrations of acids and alkalis and remains unaffected by minerals present in the subsoil.

ISOPAST is suitable for waterproofing foundations, retaining walls, floors, flat roofs, roofs and external walls. It can also be used as a primer before bonding bituminous waterproofing membranes and for maintaining existing bituminous coatings.

The product complies with ASTM D1227, Type III, Class 2.

Application Instructions

Surface Preparation: The substrate must be clean and free from dust and loose materials. Slightly damp substrates are acceptable.

For Waterproofing and Protection:

1. Stir ISOPAST thoroughly before application.

2. Apply one primer coat diluted with up to 50% water by weight.

3. Once dry, apply at least two additional coats diluted with up to 25% water by weight.

4. Apply each subsequent coat at right angles to the previous one, allowing every coat to dry completely.

As a Primer for Bituminous Membranes: The supplied technical instructions specify one coat diluted with up to 25% water by weight, followed by membrane bonding after drying. However, this particular instruction names “ISOPAST-RUBBER”, so the exact procedure for ISOPAST should be confirmed.

Consumption

Consumption depends on the substrate type and absorbency.

Important Information: Avoid application when rainfall or high relative humidity is expected. Surfaces exposed to UV radiation must be protected with ISOLAC-BT ALU solar-reflective aluminium coating. The product is not resistant to organic solvents, oils or strong chemical detergents. Wear suitable protective equipment during application.
